Silverbird is a platform that enables YOU - international merchant to open e-wallets, make cross-border payments and currency conversions. But keep in mind: Silverbird is not a bank. Silverbird is a collective name for Silverbird Global Limited and Silverbird Europe UAB.
How do I get started with Silverbird?
Setting up an account is done entirely online through a fast and intuitive onboarding process - no need to visit a branch or send in paper documents at any stage.

We will ask for information to verify your identity and that of your business. This will only take a few minutes, then a member of our team will get in touch within a few business days to finalise the process and welcome you onboard.

What makes Silverbird different from other banking services?
Behind Silverbird is a team of experienced professionals with a background in international trade and finance. Our shared vision is to help your business navigate the unique challenges and opportunities of global trade.

Unlike most banks and payment providers, we want to dedicate our time and resources only to what we do best. For this reason, we don't offer personal accounts at this time, nor services for businesses that aren't involved in cross-border commerce.
Is my money safe with Silverbird?
We are following all industry-standard regulations and best practices to ensure that your funds are protected.

As a client, your money is safeguarded with Tier-1 UK and EU banks. We maintain liquidity by keeping the money in safeguarding banks. Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) does not apply.

We use industry-leading TLS encryption protocols to keep your data safe, as well as two-factor authentication to make sure all the actions on our banking platform are indeed taken by yourself, or an authorized member of your team.

Opening an account
What documents do I need to open an account?
To open a Silverbird account you'll need to send us valid identity documents for all ultimate beneficial owners, directors, or legal representatives of your company including:
- ID card
- Passport
- Driving license

In some jurisdictions, we may ask you for one or more of the following documents to validate your business details:
- Certificate of incorporation
- Application to register a new company
- Bank statements
- Annual returns or business plans
- Invoices
Why does Silverbird ask me about my business turnover and payments?
We need this information to help us tailor the account to your needs. When we know what amounts to expect we can quickly spot unusual activity and protect your account. This way we can ensure all your transfers go smoothly without unexpected blocks.
How long does it take to open an account?
Applying for an account with Silverbird takes minutes, not months. After you submit your application, we'll begin to review it immediately and aim to provide a first update to you within a few days of completion. Keep an eye on your inbox for updates on your application or any questions from our team.

Occasionally the due diligence process can take a bit longer if we need additional information or documents from you. Even in that case, getting your account opened will be far quicker than with most high street banks.

Who can open a Silverbird account?
Silverbird is a banking solution designed for international trade. We are tailored explicitly for distributors, manufacturers, and logistic operators who make high-value transfers on a regular basis.

This means we're currently not able to onboard freelancers or the self-employed.

To open an account with us, your company must be active, hold a registration number in your respective jurisdiction. The applicant needs to be aged 18 or older and be an ultimate beneficial owner, a director, shareholder, or a legal representative of your company.

What are the features of my Silverbird account?
Your Silverbird account comes packed with powerful time-saving features, letting you focus less on banking and more on your business. Here is the list of features that we offer:

- You can open an international business account online in minutes without any paperwork. - You can send and receive payments in 20+ currencies.
- You will receive a local EU/UK sort code and account number.
- You will gain access to major payment rails such as SWIFT and SEPA.
- Your account will be monitored by your AI-powered fraud-detection systems and protected against financial crime.
- You can export your statements to send to your accountant (available in PDF, with Excel support coming soon).
- You can create templates for recurring transactions.
- You can add multiple users to your account and set permissions depending on business roles. - You can secure your account with 2-factor authentication for sign-in and transaction approval.
I forgot my password. What should I do?
If you're logged out and you forget your login password, you'll need to reset it. To do this: Click the 'Forgot password' option on your login screen. Enter your email address and click 'Send reset instructions'.

Check your inbox immediately and follow the instructions in the email we sent you. The link to reset your password is only valid for 30 minutes.

How do I contact customer services?

How do I make a complaint?
We're very sorry if you didn't get the service you expected from Silverbird.

To make a complaint, please send us an email at complaints@silverbird.com with a brief description of what's happened and how you'd like us to fix it. Once received, we'll email you that we've got your complaint and ask for any extra information if we need it. We'll investigate the details of your case as quickly as possible, and do our best to send you a final response within 15 business days.

If you're dissatisfied with our response, you have the right to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service, which offers an independent review service – but you must do so within six months of receiving our final response. For further information, please refer to the Financial Ombudsman website.
What are the different user types and permissions I can set for my account?
We are pleased to offer all of our users full permission level for the account. In future we will expand this functionality to offer various levels of access for you and your team.

So in a meantime we suggest limit the number of people that can access your account.
How can I get a bank statement?
It's really quick and easy, in your account you can see a full list of your transactions in the account tab. Here you will find the option to select the date range you need for your statement and can export it to to cvs, excel or PDF.
Payments
What currencies does Silverbird support?
Currently, all major currencies are supported for sending, receiving and exchange, including USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, CHF, DKK, NOK, RUB and JPY. The full list of 20+ currencies can be found here.

Our team is constantly working on adding support for more currencies, so stay tuned!
What are the foreign exchange timelines?
Our foreign exchange (FX) schedules tell you everything you need to know to make your conversion on time. As long as you create your conversion before the given cutoff time, the conversions will settle on the same day.
What countries can I send to?
Currently, you can send money to all countries in the European Economic Area (EEA), Southeast Asia and a few other regions around the world. Please stay tuned - we continue adding new countries every day!
Are there any limits to individual payments?
We work with our customer to customize the best offer for them. Spending limits will be determined using the information provided during your onboarding process but is constantly reviewed and adjusted where required. You can see all limits once you connect to your account.
